Welcome back to Term 2

We started back Term 2 on Halloween and did lots of fun activities around this. We would like to say a big thank you to Caroline Wishart (George's mummy) who very kindly offered to come in and do some ghost crafts with us. We were very proud of our spooky efforts.

We have started participating in the Book Bug Picture Book Prize . We will be reading the 3 shortlisted books Shark in the Park on a windy day by Nick Sharrat, There’s a bear on my chair by Ross Collins, and Hare and Tortoise by Alison Murray. We will read the books over the next few weeks and do some activities around them. We will then vote for our favourite of the three during Book Week Scotland (21st - 27th November). More information on the shortlisted books and the Scottish Book Trust can be found by clicking on the link: http://www.scottishbooktrust.com/bpbp/shortlist-2017

This week we did lots of activities about Shark in the Park on a Windy Day! We have read the story and recreated it in the hall. We also watched the author reading the story on the smart board, collected leaves and used these to make some art work.

In the arts and crafts area we are enjoying exploring painting. We made some lovely fireworks pictures and designed our own car using a big cardboard box!

We have also been getting outside when we can and took a walk up to Muddisdale to look at all the leaves that have been blown off the trees during the Autumn months. We really enjoyed climbing in the trees!
